We went to Washington D.C. over the Easter Holiday. Lydia gets the best baby ever award for how awesome she was for the entire trip. It is a good thing she is a traveling baby since we have several more trips to go this year. We saw the Holocaust Museum, the Archives, and the brand new American Indian Museum. Chad and I agreed that seeing the Charters of Freedom--the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights--was one of the best parts of our trip. Those documents really are the heart tick of our democracy, and they were written by inspired men. We also went to all the monuments. You can't appreciate how big they are unless you see them in person.
We got a good deal on a hotel through hotwire and we ended up staying at the Capitol Hilton. It was a nice room, but who knew you had to pay an additional $35 a night to park your car! We had fun though and think we'll do it again--someday. Next time we'll get advance tickets for the Washington Monument and tours of the Capitol Building. Who knew that you had to stand in line at four in the morning to get the free ones.
We hope you enjoy the video. Chad likes taking pretty pictures with his camera. He lays on sidewalks, stairs, and anything else to get just the right angle. He also fancies himself a videographer. The soundtrack, however, was my idea. Enjoy!
